Here at Weatherby Goldens we breed and raise beautiful English Cream Golden Retrievers. Our dogs are an integral and very important aspect of our lives.
Kay and I are both retired U. S. Coast Guard Officers, and after retirement we were involved in several other adventures, from my Cyber-Security Consulting to Kay managing the horse stable and training business (apply named Hickman Ranch) where we finished raising our children.
On a trip to Ireland, Kay saw her first English Cream Retriever and fell in love with the look. Upon returning home, she researched the breed and was pleased to find that through responsible breeding, they had less propensity to developing cancer, which we had experienced much too often with our previous Golden Retrievers. When the opportunity arose for us to buy Weatherby Goldens from the previous owner rather than just getting a puppy, we jumped at the chance.
After our youngest left the nest, we have closed Hickman Ranch and "Down Sized" to 15 acres that are beautifully wooded where our dogs can play and explore. One of the deciding features of our property was a 6 car garage they we have converted to kennels so our dogs have an air conditioned / heated home with access to plenty of room to romp and play. Our dogs are very well exercised and look as forward to their daily adventures as we do.
I have loved animals for as long as I could remember. I always knew growing up that I was not only going to have a dog but several dogs! This has been true through my entire adult life thus far. I have had Golden Retrievers most of my adult life.
While on a trip to Ireland, I saw my first English Cream Retriever, and I knew that this was the breed for me. I had found the perfect dog! He was stunning to the eye with his beautiful light cream color and athletic build.
I returned home and began my search for this breed in order to buy a puppy. I found Weatherby Goldens, owned by Suzanne Robb, and immediately put down a deposit for a puppy of my own. Suzanne heard my story, found out I had been raising, showing and training horses for several years and let me know she needed to sell her precious dogs in order to move to a subdivision for her family. We both agreed our 40 acre property was perfect for this kind of business and Jay and I moved five wonderful English Creams to our ranch.
We are spending many hours settling in our new family which includes Gunner, Oakland, Amber, Faith and Roux. They love their new home, and we love having them. The loving personalities cannot be beat! We look forward to introducing many families like ours to these stunning, loving dogs.
